Traditional bays is the name SMT Designs' has given to the custom bays that people design from scratch for their rockets. SMT Designs loves all rockets and created this category specifically for rocketeers who like creating custom bays for their rockets. There is a point where life can be made easier by using some manfactured parts that are designed spcifically for rockets. The typical commercial feedthrus, wiring blocks, and battery holders are general parts that are designed for a wide variety of environments. They are not designed for G acceleration, sealing air paths, and other such rocket specific problems we face when we design bays. This category has a wide range of parts that still makes the bay design custom, but makes like easier because they are designed for a rocket's enviroment with repair and upgrading in mind.
