Traditional bays is the name SMT Designs' has given to the custom bays that people design from scratch for their rockets. SMT Designs loves all rockets and created this category specifically for rocketeers who like creating custom bays for their rockets. There is a point where life can be made easier by using some manfactured parts that are designed spcifically for rockets. The typical commercial feedthrus, wiring blocks, and battery holders are general parts that are designed for a wide variety of environments. They are not designed for G acceleration, sealing air paths, and other such rocket specific problems we face when we design bays. This category has a wide range of parts that still makes the bay design custom, but makes like easier because they are designed for a rocket's enviroment with repair and upgrading in mind.
The Single Module Bay Adapter is designed to be mounted on a traditional bay sled and supply mounting for all of SMT Designs' device and battery carriers.
The Dual Module Bay Adapter is designed to be mounted on a traditional bay sled and supply mounting for all of SMT Designs' device and battery carriers, as well as all normal length hybrid platforms.
The Quad Module Bay Adapter is designed to be mounted on a traditional bay sled and supply mounting for all of SMT Designs' device and battery carriers, as well as all normal length hybrid platforms.
The bay battery holder secures a 9 volt battery on a traditional electronics bay sled and allows for the battery leads to be positioned in any of the four corners of the holder.
The 2 post feedthru supplies an insulated part so wiring can transition from inside an electronics bay to the outside for connection to igniters, electric matches, or other electronics.
The 4 post feedthru supplies an insulated connection from the internal electronics bay to the outside for igniters, electric matches, or other electronics.
The low profile switch was designed to be part of a traditional electronic bay to arm and disarm device using an arming screw through the outside wall of a rocket.
The bay switch kit was designed to be part of a traditional electronic bay to arm and disarm a device using an arming screw through the outside wall of a rocket.
The Coupler Tube Arming Switch Kit was designed to be mounted on the inside wall of the AV bay coupler tube and switch band to arm and disarm a device using an arming screw.
