A Round “The Clock” is a minimalistic desk clock design where the “hands” are implied rather than present. The clock physically consists of sixty multi-colored LEDs (light emitting diodes) and three virtual hands for hours, minutes, and seconds. As long as you know how to read a clock with hands, you can read this clock. Your brain will fill in the hands for you.
From a technical view, the clock keeps time by a crystal that is the same as you would find in a digital watch that you would buy at a store. The clock also has a battery to keep the time even when the power is out or you need to move the clock to some other place. Finally, the clock has a light sensor near the clock base that adjusts the light intensity for the current room lighting. If you have the clock in a darkened room, the clock lights will be at the lowest intensity they can be at (some people may still find this too bright).
The included User's Guide (in printed format) will give you some pointers as to how the time is expressed without real hands, as well as how to set the clock.
